Three enchanting overnight space sessions were observed by the Space Club students of DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana from April 7 to 9, 2016. The students of class 7, 8and 9 were accompanied with the team of Space Club and HOD Science Ms. Ritu Nohria. They landed on the tranquil place of Kang’s Nirvana Resort, near Garhshankar Nawanshahr for the cosmic observation at night. The students’ scientific curiosity was satiated with the various hands on activities. With the help of professional projected telescopes, Laser nights, the budding scientists thrilled themselves by finding out star constellations like Orion, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Sirius, planets like Mars, Venus, Jupitar, the glittering rings of Saturn, Milky Way galaxy, Missier M4 and M81. The live confrontation with Solar system and celestial objects contented the scientific curiosity of the students. They were quite happy to live their future dream of an astronomer. The bona fire and DJ created a spellbound ambience. The manual activities of pottery, weaving, thread making, spinning wheels and making flour with grinding stones recalled the primitive age. The natural and serene surroundings lured the young scientists to visualize the heavenly sky with great concentration. The space students were highly impressed with night sessions and expressed their gratitude to the Principal and the Space Club for catering their cosmic interests. Principal Dr. Mrs. Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated and thanked the contribution of the Space Club for instilling the inquisitiveness amongst the blooming astronomers and making them enliven their dreams.
