Sahodya School Basketball Tournament - 2019
The Sahodya Schools Basketball Tournament for U-17 and U-19 Boys &Girls was held with great pomp and show at DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana on 24th and 25th Jan 2019. The occasion added another glorious leaf in the history of the school. Around 40 teams Sahodya Schools participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event opened with a warm reception of the sport stars. The atmosphere turned exuberant with echoes of cheer and applause.All the guests and the spectators wished for the success of the event.
The Principal Dr.Satwant Kaur Bhullar conveyed her best wishes to all the participants. She emphasized the significance of true sportsmanship and stated that if winning gives joy then losing teaches us the lesson not to give up and prepare harder to come back with bang. The players displayed a spectrum of courage, cooperation and sportsmanship. On the other hand players gave a cut throat competition to each other to secure their top positions.
The U-19 Boys team from Police DAV, LUDHIANA and U-19 Girls team from DAV Public School,Pakhowal Road Ludhiana stood winners. In U-17 category Girls team from GNPS and DAV Pakhowal Road Ludhiana stood victorious.
The strenuous efforts of the players were appreciated and rewarded with a grand PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY especially organized to formally declare the winners and the runners up. The best performers were awarded trophies and certificates of merit. All the participants were admired for their skills for upholding the spirit of true sportsmanship.
Dr. Bhullar extended her appreciation to the officials who contributed to the event by making wise decisions and drawing fair results. She also conveyed her heartiest admiration to all the teachers of the Physical Education Dept. for their hardwork and good show. She extended her heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the participants, their respective parents and schools. The event concluded with National Anthem.
