DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road,Ludhiana bagged Laurels at CBSE U-19 Girls National Basketball Championship- 2018
DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana bagged laurels at CBSE National Basketball Championship held at John Milton Public School, Agra from 9th Dec -16th Dec 2018. The U-19 Girls school basketball team won Bronze amongst 28 National teams and glorified the name of the school.
The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar shared that the achievement has been recorded as one the major meritorious achievments in the school's history. It din't only left the mark of hard earned achievement but also an examplary spirit of sportsmanship. She shared that she was spellbound by the response of the team captain Pretty Sidhu , a student from Class XI who unfortunately lost her mother during the finals. The captain showed matchless courage amidst this heartbreaking news and insisted to play in the finals not leaving her team mates alone at that crucial stage. Dr. Bhullar extended her best wishes to the team and expressed her grief for the irreparable loss.
Mr. Rajesh Thakur acknowledged the compassion and bravery shown by the team during tough times. He stated for him they were the winners and assured that the team will leave no stone unturned to enhance the glory of the school. The staff and the students observed a two-minute silence to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
