SPACE ASTRONOMY CLUB – FUN WITH THE UNIVERSE

D.A.V. Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana in association with Space Astronomical Club organized an Orientation Programme on ‘Space Module-1 Fun with Universe’ on 10^th Aug 2016 for classes VI – VIII. The Principal Mrs. Satwant Kaur Bhullar initiated this programme with a vision to develop advanced scientific aptitude among students from the formative years only. She emphasized that students must be ready to pace with the contemporary challenges. With such kind of informative programmes and practical training modules the students will love to learn the intricate scientific details easily and effectively.

The session was undertaken by Mr. Aman Mittal (Head Space Club) with a team of educators Ms. Amanpreet, Mr. Neeraj, Mr. Amit and Mr. Satish. The resource persons discussed the club details with the members. They also shared the purpose and conduction of the club. They also discussed the importance of school and community engagement to move further. They also briefed the students on various events included in ‘SPACE Event Calendar’ and created ‘Club Calendar’.  Nominations and selection of Club Crew Members and delegation of responsibilities were also done in this orientation programme. In the following session the students learnt advanced stages of rocketry principles using hydro rockets. The students overcame engineering challenges through multiple launches and studying various launch and flight parameters.

This session will be followed by many other chain activities spanned throughout the year. It is highly expected that the students will get fully acquainted with the new laws of space that would add another feather to their developing knowledge.
