Ved Prachar Week at D.A.V Pakhowal Ludhiana

To promote the learning and preaching of ancient Vedas ,D.A.V Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organized  ‘VED PRACHAR WEEK’ on its campus from 19 AUG 2016 to 26 AUG2016 . Several informative activities were planned and executed by the teachers to make the students understand the Vedic philosophy. The school Shastri Jaidev ji  began the event with the sacred Havan and  summarized ‘SATYARTH PRAKASH’ a book by Swami Dayanand ji to the students . The values from all four Vedas –RIGVEDA , YAJURDEVA, SAMVEDA and ATTHARVEDA  were imparted to the students . A declamation contest by VED PRACHAR MANDAL was organized in the school in which Bhavuk Jain of class IX stood Ist. Students participated wholeheartedly in several competitions like Group poem recitation competition, Shalok Uccharan, Mantra Uchharan, Bhajan Gayan and Arya Samaj Niyam Kanthasthikaran. All these competitions were spread over a span of six days.

The week concluded with a cultural event. Hon’ble Shri Varinder Mittal Ji , President Prerna Peeth, Ludhiana  graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was extended a warm welcome by Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar. Shri Varinder Mittal ji inspired the students to be responsible citizens of the society and cleanliness of body, mind, soul and surroundings should be the utmost responsibility of an individual. He also threw light on the principles followed by Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji. Students performed a role play inspired by various influential chapters from different Vedas. The students came dressed up as various characters of Arya Samaj who played an important role in spreading positivity and peace around the world. The students who participated in the activities were awarded appreciation prizes.

The Principal DR. Satwant Kaur Bhullar stated that she herself is a staunch follower of Arya Samaj and is devotee to Swami Dayanand Ji and his preaching. In her felicitations discourse she shared the thorough meaning of the word ‘Arya’ i.e. pure and pious. A true Aryan should celebrate the special occasions with lightening lamps and pleading for a simple and noble life. She also recommended that the knowledge of Vedas is must for being a true DAVean.Dr. Bhullar extended a heartfelt thanks to Shri Varinder Mittal Ji and presented a token of reverence to him on behalf of DAV family. Curtains were drawn on the event with the recitation of sacred Shanti Path.
