One Day Capacity Building Workshop for Primary Teachers

Under the aegis of DAVCAE and with the blessings of Hon'ble Dr. B.B. Sharma Ji (Regional Director & Manager Ludhiana Zone), DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organized a One Day Capacity Building Programme for Primary Teachers on its campus on 24th Dec 2016.  The occasion was presided over by Hon'ble Principal Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu Ji (Regional Training Coordinator, Ludhiana Zone).  The workshop was conducted by an elite faculty from DAV including Mrs Ravinder Chawla, Mrs. Gargi Sharma and Ms. Silky Kaur. It was indeed a matter of great honour for the teachers of eight DAV schools to be a part of this enrichment programme. The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar welcomed the resource persons and the participants. She enlightened the teachers about the objectives of the workshop. She laid emphasis on regular polishing and improvement of the teaching skills among the teachers. In her address she threw light on the importance of strong academic foundation of the primary students. She also expressed her high expectations from the teachers to learn and excel in their classroom work and management.

The resource person Mrs. Ravinder Chawla began the workshop with an inspirational video to motivate the teachers for the upcoming sessions. She also elaborated on the branding of school and the vision statement for extensive teaching and learning. She also guided the participating teachers on measures to guide the parents. The session was a panorama of many informative activities to facilitate teaching in all subjects at primary level. The resource persons elaborated minutest nuances of the basic subjects. The participants had a great time of learning and enrichment. The workshop aimed to bring in a productive transformation in the methods of teaching so as to make the learning more comprehensive and student oriented. The workshop facilitated the teachers to carry out their routine teaching with much more fun and long lasting learning. Hon'ble Pr. Mrs Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu expressed her concern for the need of maintaining and raising the standard of education in the schools. She also mentioned that such workshops are a constant feature at DAV. Learning is equally important for the students and teachers and as the RTCC Ludhiana she has taken up the responsibility to nourish the roots of education in all DAV schools of Ludhiana Zone.
