One Day Capacity Building Workshop for Primary Teachers 

Under the aegis of DAVCAE and with the blessings of Hon'ble Dr. B.B. Sharma Ji (Regional Director & Manager Ludhiana Zone), DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana organized a One Day Capacity Building Programme in the subjects of English, Social Science, Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics on its campus on 26th Dec 2016. The workshop was conducted by an elite faculty from  various DAV institutions including  Mr. Darshan Singh for the subject of Economics, Mrs Monika Gupta for Business Studies, Mrs. Kawalpreet Kaur for Accountancy, Mrs kavita Anand and Mrs. Navneet Sidhu in the subject of Social Science and Ms. Monisha Biswas and Mrs. Mandira Dhingra for English.

Fifty two delegates from nine DAV schools became a part of this enrichment programme. The Principal Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar welcomed the resource persons and the delegates. She enlightened the teachers about the objectives of the workshop. She laid emphasis on regular polishing and improvement of the teaching skills among the teachers. In her address she threw light on the importance of strong academic foundation of the students. She also expressed her high expectations from the teachers to learn and excel in their classroom work and management.

The resource person Mrs Mandira Dhingra began the workshop with an inspirational video to motivate the teachers for the upcoming sessions. Ms. Monisha elaborated  the four basic skills of language and how to polish these skills amongst students .The workshop was made interesting by various presentations on Question paper framing, games and handouts for extensive teaching and learning.

Business Studies workshop included the discussion and presentation on case studies , marketing ,types of plan, tips for attempting the exam and business quiz. The session was

a panorama of many informative activities to facilitate teaching . The resource person Mrs. Kawalpreet  Kaur  very superbly elaborated partenership fundamentals, share capital, redemption of debentures, common mistakes committed by students, framing of assignments and value based questions. The Economics workshop incorporated discussion about performance analysis teaching methodology ,use of technology and media in economics, simulation games and concept of mapping. Mrs Kavita Anand and Mrs Navneet Sidhu threw light on designing the lesson planning in social science and role of vocabulary in Social science. They stressed on making the classroom activity based to make social sciences interesting and trouble-free for the students.  

The participants had a great time of learning and enrichment. The workshop aimed to bring in a productive transformation in the methods of teaching so as to make the learning more comprehensive and student oriented. The workshop facilitated the teachers to carry out their routine teaching with much more fun and long lasting learning. Pr. Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar expressed her deepest gratitude to DAVCAE and  Regional Coordinator Pr. Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu for arranging these workshops. She also appreciated the efforts of the resource persons for their informative deliberations.
