TWO DAY CAPACITY BULIDING PROGAMME COMMENCES AT DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL PAKHOWAL ROAD, LUDHIANA
Under the aegis of DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi, DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana inaugurated the two day capacity building programme for Primary teachers in the subjects of English, Hindi, Maths, Science and Social Science on 13th September in its premises. Around 80 teachers from DAV Schools of Ludhiana Zone participated in the workshop. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar, Principal of the host school, welcomed the dignitaries and On-Site Training Coordinators Pr.Mrs.Sonali Sharma (RMB DAV Cent.Public School, Nawanshahr) of Social Science and English, Mrs.Urmil Bhardwaj(Primary Supervisory Head, DAV,B.R.S Nagar) of Maths and Science. She extended a warm welcome to the eminent resource persons of the Programme Mrs. Rimpy Khera (DAV,B.R.S Nagar) and Ms.Shaveta Kaplish (DAV,Pakhowal Road) for English, Ms.Niti Sharma (Police DAV,Civil Lines) and Ms.Monika Sharma (DAV,B.R.S Nagar) for Hindi, Ms.Pooja Dhir (DAV,B.R.S Nagar) and Mr.Vikas Dogra (DAV,Pakhowal Road) for Maths, Mrs. Ritu Ranjana Sharma and Mr. Anoop Sharda (DAV,B.R.S Nagar)for Science , Ms.Rumjit Kaur (DAV,B.R.S Nagar) and Ms. Riya Upadhyay (Police DAV,Civil Lines) for Social Science.Pr.Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar said that Primary wing teachers make the base of the young minds by inculcating values and strengthening the foundation. She stressed that the responsibilities of a teacher are also changing with the passage of time and now it has become very important to hone the teaching skills of the teachers every now and then to satisfy the curiosity of the enthusiastic learners.
The workshop started off with brainstorming questions which ignited the creative thought process of the teachers. Activity based interesting sessions made every teacher to think critically and make the classroom teaching child- centric with innovative and interesting activities. The workshop facilitated the learners to discuss, share and establish standards for English Language planning, learning and assessment.
Pr. Dr. Satwant Bhullar thanked the resource persons and delegates of the day for their enthusiastic participation. It was indeed a fruitful day for all the delegates.
