NATIONAL  MATHEMATICS DAY AT DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, PAKHOWAL ROAD, LUDHIANA

DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road,Ludhiana celebrated   'MATH-O-MANIA'  with a  great fervour and zeal. The celebration aimed to bring awareness about the contributions made by the renowned Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan in the field of Mathematics.

Pr. Dr. Mrs. Satwant Kaur Bhullar embellished the occasion with her gracious presence as the Guest of Honour.The spectrum of the events started with DAV Gaan and introductory speech by Ms Suman Hora. Students from Classes I to XII left no stone unturned to prove their mettle through various activities like Mandala Art,  Rubik Cube, Vedic Maths Tricks, Story Telling, Dance and Role Play. They displayed their creativity and analytical skills.The students played the role of renowned Mathematicians Brahma Gupta,  Aryabhatta, Bhaskara, Shakuntala Devi, Ramanujan.The math lovers performed an inspirational skit and recited mathematical poems and songs to develop interest for mathematics amongst their peers who consider Mathematics to be tough. Amongst the creative exhibition a beautiful story narrated by class 3 students on Value of Zero was deeply appreciated. It emphasized that Mathematics is not an abstract subject confined to books but an intriguing excercise that polishes our problem solving ability in routine.The students displayed their unbeatable mettle and mathematic aptitude in Quiz Competition organised for Junior Section (ClassV) and Senior Section  (IX-X). The students of Class VI to X  displayed models( working and still) on various topics of Mathematics. Mr Prabhu Sood, Maths teacher paid tribute to the great Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanunjan by throwing light on his inspirational life and achievements through a video. 

Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated the hard work and thought process put in by students under the able guidance of the teachers. She acknowledged the fact that all the participants have obtained the objective fruitfully.

Mr Gopal Dass, HOD Mathematics and Academic Supervisor proposed a vote of thanks to all present. The event concluded with National Anthem.
